A New Chapter For Quaker Cottage Belfast

Quaker Service is working to create a new chapter in the life of Quaker Cottage, a much-

loved place on the slopes of the Black Mountain above the city of Belfast in Northern

Ireland. For generations, Quaker Cottage has been a place of welcome, community and

practical care. As we look to the future, we want to honour that heritage while working

with others to explore fresh and sustainable ways for the Cottage facilities to serve

people and communities today.

This work will be shaped by listening, partnership and the compassionate values at the

heart of Quakerism: peace, equality, simplicity and integrity. We look forward to sharing

more as plans develop, and to welcoming others into the conversation about the future

of this special place. If you would like to know more, get involved or enquire about using

The first practical step in this new chapter is to get the buildings cleaned up and ready for use by Quaker Service, local community groups and other organisations. For those that live nearby, we are organising regular volunteer days to

undertake indoor and outdoor tasks. We

recognise too that many who live further afield have strong links with the Cottage. We are keen to keep you informed and would also welcome your spiritual and financial support.
