Special Anniversary for Quaker Service

ree

A special day in the history of Quaker Service took place recently.  For Tuesday 21st October marked forty years since Margaret Hastings, our Finance and Administration Officer, started working with the charity.  Colleagues, volunteers and Board members gathered at Frederick Street to celebrate the occasion with Margaret. #

It would be hard to capture everything that Margaret has contributed over the years and the tremendous store of memories that she must possess.  How many know, for instance, that Margaret’s working career with Quaker Service began in a mobile in the carpark of South Belfast Meeting?

Elizabeth Dickson, Chair of Quaker Service, thanked Margaret for her loyalty and dedication and said that Margaret’s quiet work behind the scenes was an act of service that underpinned all that was done by the charity.  The appreciation expressed that afternoon was only a small reflection of the gratitude felt by a huge constituency involved with Quaker Service over the years.

It didn’t pass unremarked that it is hard to believe that Margaret could already have had such a long career and we look forward to her working with Quaker Service for years to come.
